I am the same with my hand towels in the kitchen and bathroom but love paper towels to wipe up unsanitary or disgusting things that I do not want to be reminded about later when I do laundry. I purchase my paper towels from Costco and they last a year.
I am very much the frugal shopper (cheapskate I guess) so you did speak to me when you mentioned reusable stuff. I do love plastic grocery bags though because I reuse them for many things, such as liners for my small trash cans. I am a weirdo and like to keep my trash cans clean so those plastic bags are the perfect size for my small cans.
I grew up with bar soap and once liquid body wash came into existence, I was forever hooked on that. If you are living alone then maybe bar soap is OK, but certainly not ideal if you are sharing a shower with anyone. “Alright, well next time you take a shower, think about the last thing that I wash and the first thing you wash.” - Joey Tribbiani
When I use ziplock type bags (which isn’t that often), then I reuse those if I can. I reuse foil. I reuse paper grocery bags for several things (The Joys of Moving). I also keep and use things like clothes, laptop/duffle bags and shoes for longer than I should so I am not always buying new things, which saves me money and is helpful to the environment.
